Overview Poetic Affinity:

The Poetic Affinity case for the Moto X 2014 2nd gen is a hybrid full frame case. Poetic has molded soft TPU and hard plastic together to make a strong shell that’s semi transparent and beautifully functional. The one main difference between this case and others I have tested so far is that it does not come with a screen protector.

Being a full frame case the Affinity has a hard shell backing which is semi transparent that allows your case design to shine through be it wood, leather, or a team color. The poetic logo is tastefully placed in the lower corner of the case. A common problem that Poetic solved with the Affinity is that hardshell cases tend to slide around a lot. However poetic placed 2 rubber areas on the top and bottom of the back to keep it from sliding.

The sides of the Affinity is where Poetic has moulded the hard plastic with a soft grippy TPU that allows you to have an excellent hold while able to access all the buttons and switches with ease.

Cutouts are reserved for the top and the bottom of the Affinity case leaving ample space for the usb cable on the bottom.On top the cutouts are reserved for the headphone jack and the sim card tray.

Putting a Moto X into the Affinity case is simple removing it is a little tougher but we would rather it stay in when it drops.

Perceived protection:

I feel that the protection level afforded by the Affinity case is great. I feel that a modest drop would not let my phone be damaged in any way.


The Poetic Affinity case would be a steal at twice the price. Seriously! I like this case a lot, and for $10 it’s a bargain!
